About the Program and Position:
For over 170 years, Cayuga Centers has delivered high-quality, innovative services focused on family support and preservation, trauma-informed care, and vulnerable populations with unique needs. As an accredited, non-profit human services agency, the Cayuga Centers currently serves over 10,000 individuals annually through 60 distinct programs. These programs are based in 20 different cities across eight states.

The Quality & Effectiveness Department will:
Collaborate with the Quality & Effectiveness Officer, other members of the Quality & Effectiveness Department, and all other departments to help all of our programs know, understand, and meet the level of high, effective, and individualized service to those we serve that we expect of them.
Partner with the Compliance Department to assist us in being a true learning organization and create improvement through partnership, not blame.
Partner with departments and programs to improve a shared responsibility.
Collaborate with our other departments to ensure the long-term sustainability of an organizational culture that reflects the organization's mission, vision, and values.
Identify potential opportunities and risks within the organization and its environment to protect its business interests and strategic goals.
Represent Cayuga Centers in the community and with internal and external stakeholders in a manner that strengthens the organization’s brand and aligns with the mission, vision, and values.
Understand that Cayuga Centers is a dynamic organization that must be continuously attentive and responsive to the communities we serve. THE QUALITY & EFFECTIVENESS DEPARTMENT
Given the needs of the vulnerable populations to which Cayuga Centers are committed, we have long believed that delivering quality programs is at the heart of our work. In short, Good enough is not good enough. This approach defines all phases of our work as an organization, including carefully assessing post-intervention outcomes and effectiveness.
The Quality & Effectiveness Department effectively ensures that we are in full compliance on a corporate, program, and contract level with all funding and licensing entities to meet the needs of our large, diverse, geographically spread human services agency.
The department:
Works with each program to set standards for assessment, treatment, or service planning, delivery, and documentation and use these standards to help our work be of the highest quality possible.
Works with each program to determine the program’s intended retained benefit to those served. Through the creation of longitudinal studies, measures of the achievement and retention of these.
Provides research to agency leaders and programs as requested.
CLINICAL RESEARCHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
As a member of the Quality & Effectiveness Department, the Clinical Researcher will:
Upon the request of UC Home Study/Post Release Services staff, research support services and access to resources for minors and their families within a specific geographic region.
Create and maintain a UC Home Study/Post Release Services resource database that can be accessed by Cayuga Centers staff.
As part of our collaboration with leadership, the Clinical Researcher will provide project-based support for our Home and Community Based Treatment & Support (HCBTS), Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS), Treatment or Enhanced Family Foster Care (TFFC/EFFC), as well as Article 29-I (A29I) programs.
Upon the request of agency leadership, research:
Specific interventions or emerging practices across agency programs
Demographics or background information on geographic regions
Policy and legislation that may affect Cayuga Centers programs
Other agencies and their best practices
Summarize researched material into appropriately lengthen memos or digital presentation formatting, allowing program leadership to review and use it for decision-making.
Establish a regular and significant presence across Cayuga Centers’ offices, in-person and/or via electronic communications. Hybrid work schedules will be limited. Travel regularly to assigned programs. In addition, occasional travel to Cayuga Centers’ other locations.
Bachelor's degree required Master’s degree preferred
A minimum of 3 years of experience conducting clinical research or equivalent social work research.
Demonstrated strong communication skills that reflect a commitment to collaboration and service.
Demonstrated strong writing skills
Demonstrated experience in providing vital customer service.
