Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Specialist Location Lanham, MD :

Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring our company operates ethically, sustainably, and with a commitment to social responsibility. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fair labor practices, environmental sustainability, and corporate social responsibility principles. Responsibilities:

  • Fair Labor Practices:
  • Implement and monitor fair labor policies and practices throughout the organization.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with labor laws and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments to develop and implement fair labor training programs for employees and suppliers.
  • Investigate and address any reported violations or concerns related to fair labor practices.
  • Environmental Sustainability:
  • Develop and execute strategies to minimize the environmental impact of company operations.
  • Assess current practices and identify opportunities for improvement in waste reduction, energy efficiency, and resource conservation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability principles into product development, manufacturing processes, and supply chain management.
  • Stay informed about relevant environmental regulations and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote corporate social responsibility initiatives and gather feedback.
  • Cultivate relationships with community organizations, NGOs, and other partners to support CSR efforts and leverage resources.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings related to fair labor and environmental sustainability.
  • Reporting and Metrics:
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of CSR initiatives.
  • Prepare regular reports on fair labor practices, environmental performance, and CSR metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, track progress towards goals, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts related to fair labor and environmental sustainability.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and integration of CSR principles into business operations.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in CSR and sustainability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in corporate social responsibility, fair labor practices, or environmental sustainability roles.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulations, standards, and frameworks (e.g., ISO 26000, UN Global Compact, GRI Standards).
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Commitment to ethical business practices, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship.
  • Certifications in CSR, sustainability, or related fields (e.g., CSR-P certification) are a plus.

Location: This position is based at our corporate headquarters in Lanham, MD, with occasional travel required.
