Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to oversee operations at the Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport. As the Director of Terminal & Landside Operations, you will work closely with the Assistant Vice President of Operations to ensure the airport runs smoothly and efficiently. You will supervise a team of Operations Specialists, monitor all construction and vendor activities, and ensure customer service excellence throughout the terminal. In emergencies, you will provide senior management presence and support operations during off-hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations within the airport terminal and landside areas, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Facilitate daily construction coordination meetings with contractors to manage ongoing projects effectively.
Ensure airport amenities and services meet customer experience standards, including cleanliness and adherence to contractual obligations.
Monitor terminal area activities, identifying and resolving issues that may negatively impact customer experience or the airport's reputation, with daily reporting on findings.
Provide assistance to customers and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment.
Conduct regular walkthroughs of the terminal to maintain optimal operational levels.
Ensure airfield operations run efficiently by coordinating with external stakeholders such as Air Traffic Control, FAA Tech Ops, and airlines.
Support various Customer Service programs, including volunteer initiatives, employee recognition, lost and found services, and programs for individuals with hidden disabilities.
Manage irregular operations by providing assistance during delays, cancellations, and other events impacting terminal services.
Quickly identify and address any operational concerns to maintain a smooth flow of operations.
Respond to emergencies as needed, acting promptly to ensure safety.
Operate two-way radio equipment using approved aviation terminology.
Monitor landside roadways and terminal curb zones to mitigate traffic control issues.
Act as a backup for the Airport Security Coordinator, with the ability to assume primary responsibilities in their absence.
Maintain a detailed daily activity log documenting airside, terminal, landside, and passenger movements.
Develop and implement components of the Airport Emergency Plan and provide training to staff as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned, with reasonable accommodations made for individuals with disabilities.
Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management or a related field is required.
A minimum of five years of experience as a Terminal and/or Landside Operations Specialist at a commercial airport.
At least three years of supervisory experience in Terminal and/or Landside Operations at a commercial airport.
Familiarity with the essential elements of maintaining large commercial buildings.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications and building maintenance management.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, and architectural drawings.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to work with multiple contractors simultaneously.
Knowledge of safety precautions and occupational hazards related to building maintenance and construction.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to remain composed under pressure.
Capability to lift 50 pounds from ground to waist level repeatedly.
Must be able to achieve and maintain airport security clearance.
Valid driver's license and insurable driving record, maintained as a condition of employment.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands for this position include squatting, kneeling, lifting, and prolonged standing and walking. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

Work Environment:
You will receive general direction from a superior, with reasonable latitude for independent judgment. The work environment may involve extremes of heat and cold, as well as exposure to various elements. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required.

Shift:
Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with a 24/7 on-call requirement for emergencies.
