Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate the dining experience during meal times for residents and ensures a safe and sanitary environment, as well as prep cooking as assigned by manager or cook.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
Takes orders from residents and serves from kitchenettes.
Ladles soup, tosses salads, portions entrees, brews coffee, and performs other services as determined by St. Ann’s. Garnishes and decorates dishes preparatory to serving.
Serves residents their meals at each table and assist residents as needed. (Some residents may need their food cut, etc.).
Communicates with main kitchen and/or other floors to meet food needs.
Delivers and picks up trays as needed to residents in their apartments.
Observes residents and respond to any additional requests and determine when meal has been completed.
Serve desserts at the request of residents.
Clears, sanitizes and resets tables at conclusion of each meal. Vacuums the floor, removes garbage and reports any spots on the carpeting which needs to be tended to. Ensure that all condiments have been restocked on tables and in kitchenettes.
Documentation in required log book as directed by Director of Food Service.
Job may also entail running the dish machine, washing dishes and other special cleaning assignments as determined by the Director of Food Service.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience
Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
