Position Overview:
This role will report directly to the Controller and play a vital role in enhancing the operational and financial effectiveness of the Accounting department. The primary focus will be on facilitating the month-end and quarter-end accounting close processes, including the preparation of bank reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the month-end accounting close process and prepare detailed monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, and project accounting, adhering to established deadlines.
Collaborate with Senior Accountants to develop, implement, and monitor necessary accounting systems, procedures, and controls.
Prepare and review general ledger entries and reconciliations.
Handle complex bank reconciliations to support large clients.
Process Stop Payments and Voids in QuickBooks batch processing.
Conduct research within client databases to identify and resolve discrepancies, research balances, and address variances.
Assist in preparing disbursements during peak periods and cover for vacation absences. Review disbursements prepared by others.
Facilitate client audit preparations by pulling reports and samples, reconciling variances, and addressing audit queries.
Support regular control testing to ensure the effectiveness of control design and implementation.
Assist with periodic compliance reporting requirements as necessary.
Aid in transactional functions such as receivable postings.
Manage ACH batching processes online (VANCO) and perform related reconciliation tasks.
Assist with 1099 Preparation and other tax-related tasks as required.
Additional Responsibilities:
Cultivate strong relationships with all departments and clients to foster collaboration and problem-solving.
Undertake special projects as assigned by the Controller or senior management.
Participate in Vimly-sponsored training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge within the Accounting Department and Employee Benefits industry.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience; Public Accounting experience is a plus.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.
Experience in operational accounting across various organizational sizes.

Competitive base salary: $25.64 - $35.89 per hour, eligible for overtime.
Quarterly bonus potential, up to 5% of annual salary.
